As a tile supplier for the architecture and design community, Tierra Sol sought to improve their standing among other showrooms in Vancouver. An opportunity arose with the decision to relocate to a new 9,500sf warehouse in Burnaby. SSDG was brought in and proposed a modern play on the industrial look of a warehouse, unpretentious and honest in its design. Natural rough sawn wood walls contrast clean white drywall providing a beautifully minimalistic backdrop to display Tierra Sol’s vast collection of tile product.

Function of the showroom was as much of a consideration as the form. The wood structure anchored the administrative areas, serving also as wayfinding for the maze-like showroom with its many display walls. Custom designed storage with worktops were thoughtfully placed throughout the showroom so that customers and sales staff can layout the samples they have selected.

Tierra Sol’s new showroom not only rivals others in the city, the unique look and function of the space is simply unparalleled.
