Established in 1892, the Terminal City Club is Vancouver’s most prominent private business club. In 2007, TCC hired SSDG to design and manage the renovation of its premises. The challenge was to create a new image to distinguish TCC from other private business clubs, and to attract new younger members while satisfying the existing membership. Improving the aging facilities would also increase overall usage of the Club, resulting in a dynamic and energized environment. “Honouring Tradition, Embracing Tomorrow” became the project’s tagline.
The Fine Dining Restaurant, branded “1892” after the year of the club’s founding, became an elegant and intimate space for members to enjoy the Club’s award-winning culinary team’s creations. Retractable glass patio doors, a contemporary stone-clad fireplace, luxurious fabrics, and accent lighting work together to create a refined and welcoming space.
