Sparkling Hill Resort - Peakfine Restaurant

PROJECT DETAILS

Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, BC is a balance between opposing ideas. Situated amongst the rugged mountains overlooking Lake Okanagan, the resort is at once understated elegance and powerful, the shapes of the rooms and spaces are both organic and angular which is reflective of Swarovski crystals and the landscape, creating an interior that is both captivating and contemplative.

PeakFine Restaurant has become a destination for signature occasions as well as a mainstay of guests staying at the resort where it is located. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The light wood maintains connection with the surroundings and relaxed lifestyle of the area, while the elegance of the crystals, white linens, and exceptional service embodies luxury. The result is a rare place of timeless beauty and serenity.

The large dining area seats over 250 guests. To avoid the feeling of a cafeteria, it was divided into more intimate sections. This was done with built-in seating, changes in floor height, millwork screens, and suspended ceilings. The effect creates spatial variety, layering the room with texture and depth. An expansive double-sided fireplace creates separation within the room and provides a rugged backdrop for an adjacent crystal art piece. The warm color palette used contrasts the cool tones of the panoramic lake and mountain views. The space is at the core of the resort, where people come to enjoy good company, great food, and quiet beauty.
