Long regarded as one of the top golf courses in Canada, Vancouver’s Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club engaged SSDG Interiors in 2010 to renovate key areas of the clubhouse in time to host a high-profile tournament. The interior design team developed a concept for the entrance lobby, dining room, and lounge that would respect the club’s traditions while updating the design to appeal to younger members and families. The contemporary yet understated interiors feature naturally luxurious materials in a warm color scheme, providing unity with the building’s West Coast Modern architecture. Expansive windows with ocean views, a retractable glazed door system off the lounge, and a patio adjacent to the dining room bring the outdoors inside. Upon completion, the membership provided resoundingly positive feedback, and revenues have increased significantly.
