The goal of Infuze Tea House was to create a tea house that would provide customers with a healthy alternative to coffee, to educate the public about the benefits of tea, and to become lifestyle leaders within the community. The design team developed a young, modern store concept that reflected their brand strategy and credo: confident, vital, innovative, and soulful.
At the entrance, the “wall of tea” invites customers to read about, look at, and take in the aromas of the over 50 international tea offerings. Menu boards and graphics further reinforce the colours and concept of the store, and provide relevant artwork in backlit niches. The order counter accommodates various tea rituals that often require longer steeping times, allowing the tea-makers to explain the attributes of each of the teas. It was essential that the flow of customers inside the store allowed them to encounter all aspects of the “tea experience”.
It’s Zen with an edge … it’s glossy white – “Infuzed” with punches of red and orange. The design team used “Infuze-orange”, white, silver, and black throughout, setting off materials such as liquid-look fabrics on the overscaled banquette seating and energizing backlit orange acrylic panels. White solid laminates create a monolithic, boxy effect on product display shelving units and tables. White floating ceiling panels bring human proportion and contrast to the high, black ceiling cavity above. Bold forms and play on scale create a tempting atmosphere that draws people in. The concept of the minimal interior allows the tea to dominate the senses.
