Doctors of BC was designed based off of the foundational context of workplace agility. Moving into a team-based approach, the organizational flow was to be transitioned from ‘me’ to ‘we’. We assigned areas for specific groups / tasks, where seats remained unassigned for individuals. Following our focus of agility and a hybrid work model, we incorporated touchscreen technology, whiteboards, and technologically enhanced collaboration spaces.
Building off of a shared space ‘kit of parts’ approach, employees can feel empowered to own their flexibility of how, when, and where they work. Through bookable offices and workspaces, flexible furniture configurations, and additional 2-4 person meeting spaces, employees would now be able to utilize this office space in a fresh, progressive, and sustainable way that is cost-effective and adaptable.
Aesthetically, the Doctors of BC branded blue was applied to the visual design throughout the space, being primarily evident in the feature acoustical slats in the collaboration area and meeting room, furniture systems, wall covering, and glass film.
