SSDG WINS IDIBC AWARD FOR JLL VANCOUVER
At the Interior Design Institute of British Columbia (IDIBC) Awards this fall, SSDG received an IDIBC Award of Merit for the Vancouver offices of Jones Lang LaSalle.
JLL was growing so quickly, meeting rooms had been converted into workstations. When they started to look for a new space, they teamed up with SSDG to design their new office and selected the historic Art-Deco Marine Building; a big change from the glass filled penthouse they had occupied previously. JLL had already made the move from enclosed offices to an open office environment. This move would give them the much-needed collaboration space, private rooms, best in class conference rooms, and connected café & lounge.
The desire to not have a traditional reception opened up the opportunity to use technology and graphics as a greeting tool to guide and welcome guests in to a variety of public spaces. A larger and more adaptable café area is located adjacent to the entrance lounge space with sliding glass doors to open and close based on the many functions the space supports throughout the day.
Their new workplace allows them to be flexible and adaptable, while giving them the much-needed opportunity for growth. They now have a space they can showcase to their current clients, prospective clients and others in the industry. It sets them apart in the busy and competitive Vancouver market.
