GETTING INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT BY SHOWING WE CARE
It was another successful year at We Care and we are so happy to have been a part once again. Each year, Herman Miller organizes this wonderful event bringing the interior design community together with children in Vancouver so that they can make gifts for their friends and family this holiday season. The kids had a variety of craft stations to visit and at our station, kids drew pictures that would be ironed onto a reusable canvas tote bag. The kids showed such amazing artistic talent, drawing their own beautiful images or using templates of their favourite characters. Can you guess what was popular this year? There was no shortage of requests for a certain snowman from Frozen! If you listened carefully you could make out “Let it go” being hummed from our table.
The day started quiet with a few kids tentatively approaching each station to create their craft and then before we all knew it, there was 250 children buzzing around Frogs Hollow and we were frantically trying to keep up! Helping the kids with their drawings was Kaylie, Sarah, and Laura while Tonya, Santi and Marie-Anne expertly ironed pictures onto bags. It all went by so fast but we pulled up our sleeves and got our craft on!
Thanks to Herman Miller for organizing such an important event for these kids. Their energy and enthusiasm is such a gift and we loved every moment of it.
