We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional interior designer at an intermediate to senior level to join our fun and talented team. Based in Vancouver, SSDG Interiors is an award-winning commercial interior design firm with nearly 40 years experience and one of the largest interior design firms in BC.

The role:

  • Managing the project team with excellent organization and people skills in addition to working independently
  • Coordination and communication with all members of the project team including client, contractor, trades, suppliers, and consultants (electrical, mechanical etc.)
  • Development of creative design directions for projects
  • Programming, space planning, contract documentation, contract administration
  • Develop and maintain project schedule and budget
  • Selection and specification of FF&E
  • Attending site for progress and deficiency reviews
  • Thorough review of all construction documents for quality assurance

  • A self-starter who thrives from being given space to explore the design process
  • Believe that design is a collaboration between client and designer, working towards the best solution for the end user
  • A team player, sharing ideas and solutions, supporting and encouraging your colleagues
  • Have built great relationships with suppliers, contractors and consultants.
  • Don’t get lost in the details but rather keep your eye on the big picture, completing your project both on schedule and on budget
  • Multi-task with ease, balancing multiple projects at a time
  • Can put together and deliver a persuasive presentation, both visually & verbally
  • Visionary with an exceptional eye for detail
  • Know local and provincial building code like the back of your hand
  • Skills (Required):
    • Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school
    • Experience with a range of commercial interior design, with an emphasis on corporate design
    • Proficiency working with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Skills (Asset):
    • Completed NCIDQ
    • Revit experience or proficiency
    • Completed the BC building code course
    • LEED accreditation
    • Experience with SketchUp, Microsoft Project & Powerpoint, or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
